Besaran Sediaan Obat yang Unik [Unique Dose Form]

3 mg = glimepiride (sulfonilurea, obat diabetes); granisetron (antiemetik), risperidone (antipsikotik atipikal); auranofin (DMARD).

4 mg = glimepiride, methylprednisolone (antiinflamasi steroid), candesartan cilexetil (angiotensin blocker, antihipertensi), trandolapril (ACEI, antihipertensi).

6 mg = betahistine mesylate (antivertigo).

7 mg = fenilpropanolamin (PPA); namun ini hanya dalam bentuk campuran. PPA biasanya didosiskan 15 mg. Sediaan 7 mg lainnya ditemukan pada amlodipine sediaan lama.

8 mg = betahistine dihydrochloride (antivertigo), candesartan cilexetil.

9 mg dan 12 mg = paliperidone (antipsikotik atipikal).

23 mg = donepezil high dose (terapi Alzheimer's disease sedang-berat).

Belakangan dosis dibulatkan menjadi 80 mg, 160 mg, 325 mg.

Adakah sediaan ganjil lain yang Anda pernah temukan? Ditunggu komentarnya.

Generally, medicines are using "even" number as a measure of its dose, such as 1 mg, 2 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg, 250 mg, 500 mg, and 1 g. Or other "even" numbers which are not listed above. These measure of dose is designed according to dose adjustment when the scientist extrapolated animal test's dose to human test.

Several medicines has "special" number as its measure of dose. This fact can aid us to remember, of course, it's because it's unique. This is the list of several special dosage form number that we managed to collect.

3 mg = glimepiride (sulfonylurea, oral antidiabetic); granisetron (antiemetic), risperidone (atypical antipsychotic); auranofin (DMARD).

4 mg = glimepiride, methylprednisolone (steroid/antiinflammatory medicine), candesartan cilexetil (angiotensin blocker, an antihypertensive medicine), trandolapril (angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor, an antihypertensive medicine).

6 mg = betahistine mesylate (antivertigo).

7 mg = phenylpropanolamine (PPA); only in combination form. Other 7 mg-dose was old version of amlodipine.

8 mg = betahistine dihydrochloride (antivertigo), candesartan cilexetil (angiotensin blocker, an antihypertensive medicine).

9 mg dan 12 mg = paliperidone (atypical antipsychotic).

23 mg = donepezil in high dose (therapy for moderate-severe Alzheimer's disease). This dose form is only available in several countries by now, not in Indonesia.

625 mg = colesevelam (hypolipidemic and oral antidiabetic).

Last but not least, most well-known special dose form is 81 mg = acetylsalicylic acid (for antiplatelet aggregation purpose). And so does the other doses = 162 mg, 324 mg. Several copy products "rounded" the dose form as 80 mg, 160 mg, and 325 mg.

Are there any other special doses form that you have found? Comments are welcomed.
